The Engage in the West Bank, Palestine was established in Hebron in June 2011 to provide educational, cultural, social, and community development services to its diverse group of international students, interns, and volunteers, as well as to Palestinian children, refugees, youth, women and community members in Hebron, West Bank, Palestine.

Engage in the West Bank, Palestine later expanded its presence by establishing the “Engage In Palestine” branch, Study in Palestine, and “Volunteer In Palestine” hubs. These new initiatives are dedicated to promoting Arabic language learning and offering specialized community development volunteer and internship programs.

Engage in the West Bank, Palestine is located in the heart of Hebron, West Bank, Palestine, on Ein Sarah Street, next to Al Hussein Mosque– the area under the supervision of the Palestinian Authority. Engage in the West Bank, Palestine’s centralized location makes it easy to access for international and Palestinian students alike. With Hebron’s city center nearby, it is very convenient to visit municipal and educational organizations as well as restaurants, supermarkets, banks, gyms, shops, NGOs, cafes, mosques, city centers, and much more. 

Engage in the West Bank, Palestine offers volunteer and internship programs that mainly focus on the topics of English instruction, human rights, women’s rights, media and journalism, medicine & healthcare, Palestinian refugees, music and Arts, Palestinian culture and politics, Palestinian laws and legal system, and Palestinian children and youth. Our volunteer programs were designed to make an impact on the Palestinian community and aim to make a long-term difference in international and Palestinian participants’ lives.

Volunteer And Internship Programs

Our volunteer and internship programs were developed for graduate and undergraduate students of Middle Eastern studies, Arabic studies, political sciences, professionals, employees of human rights organizations, scholars conducting case studies on Palestine and Israel, human aid workers, social workers, teachers, English native speakers, non-native speakers and anyone interested in engaging in the Palestinian culture and daily life. Engage in the West Bank, Palestine welcomes participants of all ages (18+), who may stay for as little as 1 week, or up to 13 weeks, which is the duration of visas granted upon arrival at the Tel Aviv airport.

Arabic Immersion Intensive Programs

Besides these internships and volunteering programs, Engage in the West Bank, Palestine offers super-intensive, intensive, and non-intensive Arabic immersion language courses, summer Arabic programs as well as Levantine (Ammiya), Palestinian colloquial Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and online Arabic courses taught by qualified Palestinian teachers and professors. The Center offers the following Arabic Immersion Intensive programs:

Awards And Recognitions 

We continue to strive towards “excellence”: In 2022 we were rated one of the top three programs worldwide in offering volunteer opportunities and one of the top three language schools worldwide by Go Overseas. We received a total of five Go Overseas Community Choice Awards in 2022. Engage in the West Bank, Palestine was also recognized as one of the top Teach Abroad Providers for the category of “benefits” and one of the Top Internship Abroad Providers for the categories of “growth” and “support”. 

In 2021, we were also rated one of the top three programs worldwide in offering volunteer opportunities. We received the community choice awards from Go Overseas in the categories “Best Language School”, and voted best on “fun” and “instruction.” 

In 2019, we received our first “Go Overseas Community Choice Awards” to acknowledge Engage in the West Bank, Palestine’s impact on the community of travelers around the world. Engage in the West Bank, Palestine continues to be a highly rated travel organization across its selection of programs.

Our participants enjoy the opportunity to engage with the many internationals and local Palestinians they meet during their time in our programs, with Engage in the West Bank, Palestine serving as a convenient shared meeting space for these conversations. Our internship programs also provide meaningful experiences interacting with and supporting Palestinian people, including refugees in the refugee camps in and around Hebron.
